Free and Premium

PackLib installs and runs without a subscription: the libraries it ships with, resizing parametric templates and Smart Assembly are open to everyone. A Premium subscription unlocks what takes a template from the screen to production.

Pricing

A subscription is bought for a fixed term. The longer the term, the lower the yearly cost.

Subscription termPricePer year

Beyond the features in the table above, a subscription covers: full updates of the software installed, help with installation, technical support by email and telephone during business hours, and remote assistance for quick fixes.

Pay online

By PayPal account or by card. Paying does not send your workstation's identification: the licence request made inside the software is still needed before a licence can be issued — see Subscribing or renewing.

Several workstations, or an invoice

The licence request window lets you state a number of computers. For a quote matching your situation, or to receive an invoice rather than pay online, write to support.

Knowing what you have

The status bar at the bottom of the window shows Premium or Free next to License. As long as no valid licence is loaded, the Go Premium! button stays visible in the toolbar.

Clicking a reserved function does not fail silently: a window describes the feature concerned and states that it requires a subscription.

Managing your licence

One window does everything: requesting a subscription, renewing it, and pasting in the licence you receive. Open it through Help → Manage license…: it lists your active licences. Once a valid licence is pasted in, the software confirms it has been accepted and the status bar switches to Premium. If it does not, restart PackLib, then write to support quoting your version number and the error code shown.

Changing machine

The licence file moves to the new machine along with the library — see the matching question in the FAQ.

Subscribing or renewing

Two steps, and only one of them is in the software. The licence request has to be made there: it alone sends your workstation's identification, without which no licence can be issued. Payment is made online from this page, or against an invoice.

Two routes lead to the request window, the Treedim License Manager:

It also opens by itself when you use a reserved function. The sequence is the same in all three cases:

  1. The See PackLib prices button opens this page in your browser — that is where the subscription is paid for.
  2. Request a licence opens the form: subscription type and number of computers, to which the software adds the workstation's own identification — software, version, MAC address, domain, Windows session.
  3. The request goes out through your mail client to support@treedim.com. If no mail client is set up on the machine, two buttons let you save the request to a file or copy it to the clipboard and send it another way.
  4. TreeDiM replies with a licence block.
  5. You paste it into Enter the licence received, in that same window. The status bar then switches to Premium.

A renewal follows exactly the same path. For a quote matching your number of workstations, or to receive an invoice, you can also write straight to support@treedim.com. The terms are set out in the PackLib terms and conditions of sale.
